Master of Arts in Art History, Musicology and Theatre Studies

What is the MA in Art History, Musicology and Theatre Studies?

The Master of Arts offers students a single in-depth year in which specialisation in one of the three main disciplines, Art History, Musicology and Theatre Studies is compulsory. Nevertheless, optional courses allow for an interdisciplinary approach. The focus is on research resulting in a master’s thesis on a topic in line with the research interests of the faculty of the department.

What does the course look like? What are the aims of the course?

The Master year comprises an in-depth semester research seminar in a topic. The outcome is the development of self-reliance, expertise, critical thinking and independent research skills. The remainder of the time is reserved for the preparation of a master’s thesis.
