The Ghent City Museum (STAM) is your gateway to the city. The fourteenth-century abbey, the seventeenth-century monastery and adjoining infirmary, the twentieth-century gatehouse and the new twenty-first-century extension introduce you to the history of Ghent. A permanent exhibition leads visitors along a chronological trail of objects and multimedia and explains the development and growth of Ghent. We will visit the temporary exhibition City and University. Since 1817. This exhibition is part of an extensive program of events celebrating the 200th anniversary of Ghent University.
