Content information
Starting level: You have good knowledge of French:
- You can participate in a conversation on familiar issues without preparation. You can also link sentences in a simple manner. You use the correct past tenses, but you still have doubts about the use and the formation of the subjonctif.
- When native speakers talk to each other, you understand almost everything, even when they talk fast.
- It is required that you take the brief online test before enrolling. Please find this general orientation test in the list of French tests. During the first class session your teacher will evaluate if the result of the online test may be confirmed. If you are referred to a different level at that stage you can enter that level on condition that sufficient places are still available.
Content:
- Listening skills: at the end of the course you can understand the news on television and programmes on current affairs. You can follow more complex conversations, when the subject is familiar to you.
- Speaking skills: at the end of the course you can participate in a spontaneous and fluent conversation. A normal interaction with native speakers is possible.
- Reading skills: only authentic materials are used. At the end of the course you are able to understand articles on current topics in which the author gives his point of view.
- Writing skills: at the end of the course you can write a detailed text in which you defend your point of view.
- Specific grammatical items: revision of the imparfait, the passé composé, the conditionnel, and personal pronouns. New: the subjonctif.
