Register for the Interuniversity test of academic English - ITACE


  • The ITACE for students is held on fixed days. The written and oral tests take place on the same day. The oral test takes place in the afternoon.
  • You can register via this online form up to two weeks before the test.
  • After that, you can only register at the UCT registration office until at least two workdays before the test.
  • You can find the test dates and the ultimate dates for registration in the schedule below.

Practical information

Your registration will only be valid after we have received payment. Please keep in mind that wiring money via the bank can take a few days (3 to 7 days). On the day of the test itself, you cannot register nor pay for the test, nor do we accept any proof of payment.

At least two workdays before the test, you should receive an emailed confirmation from the UCT (from If you have not received this confirmation form, you must contact the UCT ASAP. Without written confirmation, you cannot take part in the test.

You can also make an appointment to do the test. In that case, the code is TE00 (English). Should you wish to make an appointment, please contact Marijke Lenaerts. However, it is not possible to make an appointment in the periods when open tests are planned.
