On May 30 Prof. dr. Koen Ponnet and Eveline Vlassenroot will give a presentation about the wellbeing of children in case of international child abduction.

The increasing focus on the rights of the child, stipulated in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, amplifies the necessity of collecting information on the needs and wishes of children in all matters affecting them directly.

Prof. dr. Koen Ponnet and Eveline Vlassenroot will present the results of a focus group study that aimed to identify how we can involve young adults in (legal) procedures and how giving a voice to them can positively enhance their wellbeing.

Prof. dr. Koen Ponnet will present the results of a survey study conducted with Prof. dr. Lieven De Marez and dr. Katrien Symons on the perceptions of parents of children who were abducted.
