(25-09-2020) This book was a collaboration between several authors with a common goal: inform the public about barriers people with dyscalculia have to overcome

With the City of People 'Inclusie in 4D: drempels, diversiteit, dyslexie en dyscalculie' project, City of Ghent, Ghent University, imec and Arteveldehogeschool want to develop solutions and provide more insight into the thresholds or problems people with learning disabilities such as dyscalcuia and dyslexia face.

This book illustrates how scientific research not only contributes to the development of new methods or technologies, but also contributes to society. The authors show how students with dyscalculia can be successful in higher education, which facilities have the effect of lowering barriers, what helps if graduates apply for a first job and how the labor market can be sensitized. Readers are provided with general information, as well as very practical tips and tools to efficiently tackle higher education studies. In this way, the authors want to support young people and young adults with dyscalculia, while at the same time showing employers that they risk missing hidden potential if they rely solely on standard selection criteria. Parents, teachers and supervisors of students with dyscalculia can also benefit from this book.
