EUNIS award 'AV-enabled Classroom Educational Space' for our work in the imec TUTOR-project
(13-07-2022) EUNIS Award for Kim Dekeyser (imec-ITEC-KULeuven) and Charlotte Vanroelen (imec-mict-Ghent University) for 'A digital twin of the medical simulation lab to improve communication skills of medical doctors. Simulation training in Virtual Reality.'
The EUNIS Award for Best Overall AV-enabled Education Space recognizes innovative use of audiovisual technology that results in positive results in registered higher education learning facilities, whether in classrooms for students and/or instructors or campus-wide. It celebrates great design where AV is an integral component of enabling education to take place in a given space or campus.
Our fruitful collaboration with research group ITEC-KuLeuven has led to the prestigious EUNIS award 'AV-enabled Classroom Educational Space' with our interactive VR experience of the Medical Simulation Lab! Charlotte Vanroelen went to Berlin to receive it.
Our new XR simulation framework named ExperienceDNA was used to build a digital twin for training communication in medical emergency settings. This allows multiple users (students) to experience a collaborative training in 3D, while the teacher can monitor and control the different steps in the scenarios.
