Congratulations! dr. Johanna Renny Octavia is granted a funding from Global Minds Fund

(16-05-2019) Mict researchers received a grant from Global Minds Fund to carry out an explorative mission to fight food waste in Indonesia.

Grant from global minds funddr. Johanna Renny Octavia has granted, together with Prof. dr. ing. Jelle Saldien, dr. Anissa All and dr. Peter Conradie, a University Development Cooperation Capacity Building (CB 2019) funding from Global Minds Fund to carry out an explorative mission to prepare a UDC project proposal. The proposed mission is entitled: “Exploring creative technological innovations to enhance food sharing actions towards food waste reduction in Indonesia”, and will be carried out in collaboration with Parahyangan Catholic University and Rikolto in Indonesia. The explorative mission takes place from 17-27 May 2019 in the pilot cities of the project - Jakarta/Depok, Bandung, Solo and Denpasar - in Indonesia. This project is supported by VLIR-UOS and DGD.  

Since 2017, the Federal Government allocates funds to Ghent University through the office of the VLIR-UOS to further develop and expand its University Development Cooperation (UDC) capacity. Global Minds Fund Ghent University provides funding for initiatives that enhance the university’s research and/or teaching capacity with respect to development cooperation. This call reaches out to all Ghent community members, to propose scientific or educational oriented initiatives.
