Pokumon - The multimedia accessibility of performing arts

About

The Flemish cultural organisations have archived both their own and their guest productions. In the past, they did so using analogue methods but now it is increasingly done digitally. The sector has experienced strong growth in the demand for access to archive material for various categories of end-user and this on the basis of a standardised metadata exchange model.

In addition to archiving and providing access to the cultural organisations’ own productions, this project will also do the same for introductions to performances, interviews with soloists, etc. The fact that this is a matter of multimedia archiving and accessibility to information flows which may come from different sources implies a number of specific challenges.

Duration of the project

The project runs from 01/04/2007 - 31/03/2009.
