E-inclusion for cities (MIDIS)

About

E-inclusion for cities, a project in collaboration with IBBT-SMIT commissioned by Digipolis, primarily aims at a critical analysis of Ghent's current digital exclusion situation and its related policy actions concerning the e-Inclusion program Digitaal.Talent@Ghent. This program includes a variety of initiatives to promote the digital inclusion of its citizens. However, it remains unknown to what extent such initiatives are in line with the increasing complexity of digital exclusion.

Therefore, the project's second objective is to develop a stable measurement instrument, aimed at generating strategic figures related to digital exclusion in an urban context. In doing so, state-of-the-art theoretical concepts are operationalized in order to assess a wide range of audiences' digital literacy in a reliable and cost-effective way.

Duration of the project

The project runs from 01/02/2011 - 30/09/2011.
