How to innovate workplace learning in health education?

The project answers the urgent need to innovate workplace learning in health education. It develops a validated e-Portfolio to support competence development. Current portfolios are mainly paper based, do not involve all stakeholders, are not linked to all administrative systems, not based on full competence frameworks, contain static proofs, do not build on generic procedures, or offer user training user, and do not map the full educational career.

We at imec-mict-UGent are creating technically and functionally validated prototypes and proof of concepts of e-Portfolios, via focus groups, co-creation sessions, paper mock-ups and lab tests. We will also test the first workplace prototype in a workplace learning environment, allowing us to test the user experience in a real-life setting. The evaluation will be done by means of qualitative (e.g., observations) and quantitative research.
