Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Trust
Monitoring

To what extent do citizens and companies trust artificial intelligence? How can policy enhance acceptance of artificial intelligence?

The centre of expertise initiated by the Flemish Government aims to stimulate the public debate about artificial intelligence (AI), monitor citizens’ attitudes towards AI and develop policies to increase adoption of AI by public and private organisations. The project will result in specific guidelines, recommendations and rules to mitigate risk of AI development and shape future regulatory and policy interventions related to AI.

We at imec-mict-UGent examine the human-technology interaction and focus on the conceptualisation of trust in AI systems. By surveying acceptance of AI among citizens and organisations, we inform public policies and feed public debate.
