Jonas De Bruyne

Jonas De Bruyne is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Experimental and Theoretical Psychology at Ghent University. In 2019-2020, he conducted an experiment within the field of cognitive control under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wim Notebaert investigating the phenomenon of post-surprise slowing during task-switching. For his Master’s thesis, he is investigating the role of context on visual processing in the framework of the Predictive Coding Theory under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Durk Talsma.

For 6 months, he will work as an intern at IMEC-MICT-UGent. Specifically, he will be involved in the SenseCity project evaluating the influence of innovative adaptations in control rooms on the cognitive workload of operators by using several psychophysiological markers. He will learn how to set up and perform experiments that combine VR and EEG.
