A statistician from FIRE or FLAMES will lead a discussion of a statistics topic from a Points of Significance article.
This seminar is about the Error bars: we focus on how uncertainty is represented in scientific publications e.g. using error bars based on the standard deviation, standard error and 95% Confidence interval. We also reveal several ways in which these have been frequently misinterpreted.
