Guest speaker: Dr. Sam Scott (Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology, Nutritional Medicine and Metabolism, University of Bern, Switzerland)

In this presentation, Sam Scott will provide a talk on the unique challenges of working with professional athletes living with type 1 diabetes, which he knows first-hand by working with Team Novo Nordisk, who are the first and only professional cycling team comprised of elite athletes with type 1 diabetes. In particular, he will discuss how to translate findings from both clinical research and applied sport science to improve the health and performance in this group of athletes, including best nutritional and physical training practices.
