Symposium 'Transferable Skills Webinar: Doing research in a non-EU context: funding, ethics and integrity'

This Transferable Skills Webinar will be open to Ma and PhD candidates working in a non-European context. These scholars will be informed on funding opportunities for scholarships; they will get information on topics like ethical clearances, ethics commissions, regulating protocols in the field; and on issues such as corruption, unequal power relations, political complexities when doing research in an unstable context. The ‘dilemma game’ will be the topic of the afternoon– the game offers participants the opportunity to formulate dilemmas from their own practice, which will lead to interaction between researchers familiar with the UGent context or various non-EU contexts. The session on UGent's policy on Dual Use will be open to staff members and professors as well.
