A lecture bij Marco Stampanoni on how novel X-ray imaging techniques are changing not only our view on the microstructure of materials but also medical imaging.

Over the past 20 years, X-ray imaging has changed drastically as it is no longer merely driven by the attenuation of X-rays.

Whether it is done using X-ray from large-scale synchrotron facilities or conventional X-ray sources, looking at alternative contrast mechanisms opened a whole new window on the world, ranging from 3D imaging at the nanoscale to medical imaging.

This lecture is given by Prof. Marco Stampanoni, head of the X-ray Tomography Group at the Swiss Light Source (SLS) and full Professor for X-ray imaging at the ETH Zürich. He is also co-founder of GratXray AG, an innovative medical technology company that focuses on medical imaging based on X-ray phase contrast imaging.
