The research topic focusses on the propagation of signals in grids and impedance characteristics of microgrids in the frequency range 2 to 500 kHz. You conduct measurements on the available microgrid, you model the grid and predict the propagation and impedance behavior. You publish your results. Additionally, you will support the Lemcko staff in teaching and lab sessions.

Tasks:

· You conduct measurement (impedance, attenuation, propagation) on a live configurable grid.

· You model the micro grid in the range 2 – 500 kHz and higher. An in depth knowledge of transmission lines, measurement techniques and power electronics is necessary to accomplish this task.

· You write scientific publications and contribute to project reporting.

· You supervise bachelor and MSc students during projects and practical courses related to your own research.

Functieprofiel

You have one of the following Master degrees with specialization:

- Master of Science in Electromechanical Engineering (subject Electrical power engineering), Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Applied Physics

- Master of Science in Engineering technology

– Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering

- Equivalent Master in Electronics or Electrotechnics

· You are highly motivated, self-critical, you work with rigor and attention for detail, and you work accurately

· A good knowledge of Matlab and Latex is an asset
