Digital lecture by Sébastien de Valeriola (UCLouvain) for the Digital Medieval Urban History Network

Friday 4 February 2022 (16h00 CET, 15h00 GMT), Sébastien de Valeriola (UCLouvain, BE) will deliver a paper titled 'Assenet a lui, a ses meubles et a ses cateux. Clerical lenders of Tournai and incomplete credit guarantees (13th-early 14th century)'

Sébastien de Valeriola is a PhD fellow in medieval history at UC Louvain's research group Religions, spiritualités, cultures, sociétés. Before turning to medieval history, he got a PhD in mathematics and an MA in actuarial science. He is an expert in the application of quantitative and numeric methods in historical research. For his (joint)PhD in medieval history, he conducts research into the commercial networks of 13th and 14th-century Ypres. His supervisor at Louvain-la-Neuve is Prof. Paul Bertrand and at Ghent University Prof. dr. Jeroen Deploige and formerly also Prof. dr. em. Marc Boone.

This lecture is the 29th event of the Digital Medieval Urban History Network, directed by the Henri Pirenne Institute at Ghent University and the Department of History at Queen Mary University London.
