Collège Belgique

On 1 February 2018, Marc Boone (Pirenne Consortium, UGent) and Alexis Wilkin (ULB) will provide the inaugural lecture of this year's Cours et conférences series of the Collège Belgique (The Royal Academy for Science and the Arts of Belgium).

They will speak about the destruction of the city of Liège by the troops of the Burgundian duke Charles the Bold in 1468. This medieval case  study will be framed within a larger history of profound alterations or destructions of urban space and infrastructure throughout the ages.
