Medieval Seminar Series lunch lecture by dr. David Murray (University of Oxford)

Tuesday 26th of February we will host dr. David Murray (University of Oxford). Dr. Murray is a philologist and literary scholar working on medieval song culture. He currently works as a postdoctoral research fellow on the ERC Advanced Grant project ‘Music and Late Medieval European Court Cultures’.

For the MSS lunch lecture Dr. Murray will speak on 'Cultural Production at the Court of a Fourteenth-century Prince of the Church: Salzburg, Pilgrim von Puchheim, and the 'Monk''.

Focusing on a corpus of secular and religious song from the archiepiscopal court of Salzburg, this lecture will examine the braod cultural interests of a socially mixed milieu across the boundaries of art, music and literature.
