Invitation to the viva of PhD candidate in Dutch Literary Studies, Eva Vandemeulbroucke

Wednesday 25 September 2019, Eva Vandemeulebroucke, PhD candidate at the Department of Literary Studies (Dutch), will publicly defend her PhD-thesis 'Een auteur op maat. Jan van Leeuwen (†1378) in tekst, codex & context'.

Eva has been doing research as a PhD fellow in the project 'Visions on authorship in Middle Dutch literature (c. 1200 – c. 1550)' under the supervision of Prof. dr. Lars Bernaerts (Ghent University), Prof. dr. Veerle Fraeters (University of Antwerp) and Em. Prof. dr. Thom Mertens (University of Antwerp). She is a specialist in late medieval Dutch religious literature from the Low Countries and has published several articles. Eva's areas of expertise include the Brabantine priory of Groenendaal and the oeuvre of Jan Van Leeuwen, lay brother at Groenendaal, disciple of the famous Jan Van Ruusbroec and an author of mystical texts himself.

The viva defense will take place in the Rector Vermeylen Room of Conference Center Het Pand in Ghent, 16:00-18:00.
