Interdisciplinary colloquium on historical evolutions in spelling in Dutch, English and German

On Friday 13 December 2019, our Institute together with the Royal Academy of Dutch language and literature (KANTL), the research group ΔiaLing and Taal en Tongval, will be organising the interdisciplinary colloquium ‘Spelling in ontwikkeling’. The aim is to present and bring together research on trends and evolutions in Dutch spelling from the Middle Ages till the nineteenth century, from history as well as (historical) linguistics.

The colloquium will take place in Gent, in the KANTL (Koningstraat 18). Pirenne members can participate free of charge. However, we do ask you to register by sending an email to before 15 November 2019. Researchers who still want to contribute with a paper can do so by sending an abstract to 31 October 2019 to .
