Transcript of Records

When do I get my exam results?

After each examination period your transcript of records is available on Oasis.

This is at the earliest after the end of the examination period en at the latest on the following data:

Academic Year 2025-2026:

  1. At the latest Friday, February 6, 2026 after the first-semester examination period (at the latest on Saturday, February 14, 2026 in case of deliberation);
  2. At the latest Thursday, July 2, 2026 after the second-semester examination period, except for the abbreviated pathway educational master's program: at the latest on Friday, July 3, 2026;
  3. At the latest Saturday, September 12, 2026 after the resit-examination period.

Early Release of Exam Results in 1BA

For students in the 1st standard study track year of a Bachelor’s programme, exam results may be released earlier than the public announcement of results. The faculties specify this release date in advance, which must occur no earlier than after the last exam day.

In Oasis, you can see all the course units that are part of your 1st deliberation set. Once the lecturer has entered your result, you will be able to see it.
Are not all your results visible yet? There is a new release every day, at a pre-announced time, of the results entered in the past 24 hours.

Please note that results are only final after the public announcement of exam results. This does not mean that early-release exam results are negotiable or that they can still change by the time of the public announcement. It simply means that they are officially confirmed at that moment. The public announcement of exam results also signals the start of the appeal period. The feedback period starts after the public announcement of exam results.

1st bachelor students

  1. Go to http://oasis.ugent.be and log in with your UGent username and password (the same as for webmail and Ufora).
  2. In the menu on the left, go to ‘General information’ and select ‘Examination results’.
  3. Click the button ‘Select’ below your programme.
    1. Before the provisional and final announcement: only the date and time of the provisional and final announcement are shown.
    2. As of the provisional announcement, and before the final announcement: there is a button to check the examination results that have been filled in and confirmed (provisional examination results).
    3. As of the date and time of the final announcement: there is a button to download your transcript of records (‘Final transcript’).

Other students, not 1st bachelor

  1. Go to http://oasis.ugent.be and log in with your UGent username and password (the same as for webmail and Ufora).
  2. In the menu on the left, go to ‘General information’ and select ‘Examination results’.
  1. Click the button ‘Select’ below your programme.
    1. Before the announcement: you will see the date and time on which your final results will be available.
    2. As of the date and time of announcement: there is a button to download your transcript of records (‘Final transcript’).

Previous transcripts of records

  1. Go to http://oasis.ugent.be and log in with your UGent username and password (the same as for webmail and Ufora).
  2. In the menu on the left, go to ‘General information’ and select ‘Examination results’.
  3. Click the button ‘Select’ below your programme
  4. Select the academic year.
  5. Click the button ‘Final transcript of records’ to print your transcript of records of that academic year.

Codes and comments on the transcript of records

Codes

Besides your score ('local grade') there is also a code on your transcript of records that indicates if you achieved whether or not a credit certificate or if you were tolerated plus the concerning academic year. In this code you can also see if it is about the first or resit exam period.

  • C = Credit certificate awarded (for example C141 means that in academic year 2014-2015 a credit certificate was awarded at the first exam period)
  • G = Tolerated fail, no credit certificate awarded.
    This means that your score was less than 10/20, but this fail was tolerated and that you succeed for the deliberation packet. You do not have a resit exam for course units with a G code, but you will not get a credit certificate and you will not get back learning account.
    You are allowed to do a resit exam in August/September if you want to achieve a credit certificate.
    Contact your Faculty Student Administration if you want to do so.
  • PASS = Pass (no score on 20)
  • FAIL = Fail
  • ZIEK = Absent because of illness
  • AFWE = Absent
  • BDRG = Fraud
  • ONBK = Local grade unknown
  • VRST = Exemption
  • STOP = Terminated enrolment

Percentile

Under 'Percentile' A(B)C you can see the fraction of passed students achieving a grade in relation to your score (calculated over a 5-year period; thus, it includes successful fellow students from past years).

  • A: strictly lower than yours
  • B: equal to yours
  • C: strictly higher than yours

Study Progress Monitoring

Your transcript of records also mentions study progress monitoring.

To obtain further information on your results or your study progress you may either contact the lecturers or their assistants for feedback or visit your faculty's Monitoring Service.

Decision of the Examination Board

If the Examination Board made a decision about if you have passed a specific study programme, whether the degree or certificate may be awarded and if you are granted a grade of merit, is also visible on your transcript of record.

Calculation of total scores

The total score of a completed deliberation set consists of the weighted average of the local grades, in addition to which the ECTS credits are use as weights.

Grade of merit

The grade of merit for a study programme is expressed as follows:

  • Cum fructu (at least 500 out of 1000)
  • Cum laude (at least 675 out of 1000)
  • Magna cum laude (at least 750 out of 1000)
  • Summa cum laude (at least 825 out of 1000)

The calculation method of the grade of merit is defined by the Faculty Board (in Dutch).

If you have a doubt about examination decisions, please go to the feedback sessions.

You may file an appeal against the decision by the Examination Board with the Institutional Appeals Committee, as specified in the Education and Examination Code.
For exam decisions, the appeal needs to be filed within the peremptory time limit of 7 calendar days, starting on the calendar day after the examination results announcement.
