The teenage brain as a window of opportunity for contributions to society

Eveline Crone is Professor of Neurocognitive Developmental Psychology and founder of the Brain and Development Research Center at Leiden University. Her research examines brain development in relation to cognition and behaviour of children and adolescents. She is a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and the second Dutch member to join the Scientific Council of the European Research Council (ERC). In addition, she is active as a figurehead of NeuroLabNL, a science-society workplace of brain, cognition and behavioral research of the National Science Agenda (NWA). Crone received several prestigious research grants among which the Spinoza Award in 2017, the highest recognition in Dutch science.
