Short description of professional career

  • Annemie Desoete is currently Professor 'Learning Disabilities' at the Ghent University, Belgium. Building on her PhD-work in the field of learning disabilities and metacognition, her actual field of research focuses now on the research of mathematics and reading disabilities and on metacognition.
  • She has published a wide variety of international journals and international books. She is involved in a number of other journals (Educational Research review, Metacognition and Learning and Journal of Psychoeducational).


Current activities

PhD-studies: she coordinates PhD studies related to learning disabilities.

Next to learning disabilities, major topics of her research are related metacognition, alternative assessment and evaluation procedures.
