Letizia Amodeo
As PhD candidate at UGent and EXPLORA member, my research interests focus on the human tendency to preferentially process information that is relevant or related to oneself – such as one’s own name or face – in the context of both typical and atypical development. More specifically, my PhD project aims to investigate how different aspects of self-processing might differ in autistic individuals compared to neurotypicals at both the behavioral and the neurobiological level, and how these aspects may be linked to the social difficulties in autism.
I received my M. Sc. in Psychology in July 2019. I wrote my Master thesis on the interplay between functional connectivity and emotion regulation strategies, under the supervision of Professor Alessandro Grecucci (Cli.A.N. Lab, University of Trento). During my studies, I spent a semester at Radboud University as an exchange student and completed a four-months internship in Ghent University at the Department of Data Analysis, under the supervision of Professor Daniele Marinazzo.
