Young energy savers: Do children see the connection between their energy use and climate change?

Climate change has become an important topic of discussion the last decade. While children will be highly affected by its consequences, not much is known about their willingness to adapt their energy use. Therefore, Hayley Pearce, Liselot Hudders and Dieneke Van de Sompel performed semi-structured interviews to gain insights in children's knowledge, attitudes, morals and actual energy related behaviors. In addition, they looked at the role different socialization agents (e.g. parents, peers, etc.) play in the formation of children energy curtailment literacy. The study was published in Energy Research & Social Science and can be found here (open access until the 4th of February 2020).
