Cara De Boer
Biography
In 2016, I obtained my PhD in Business Economics at KU Leuven on the topic of Transformative Consumer Research. Nowadays, I am a postdoctoral researcher at CEPEC (Ugent) and am teaching the courses Corporate Communication, Social Marketing and Marketing Communication. Next to this, I have given guest lectures on topics such as online qualitative research and neuromarketing.
My research is focused on topics such as self-regulation, ethical consumption, scarcity and luxury consumption. Initially, my research was focused on prohibiting ‘bad behavior’, such as unhealthy snacking. However, over the years, I have become increasingly fascinated with finding ways to promote ‘good behavior’ such as buying green, or saving money.
