Susan Vertoont acquired a Bachelor degree of Communication Management at the Artevelde University College Ghent in 2008. She also holds a Master degree in Communication Sciences, with major in film- and television studies (2010), and graduated from a Teacher Training Program in 2017. In November 2013 she started working at the Department of Communication Sciences at Ghent University as a researcher and teaching assistant under the supervision of Prof. dr. Sofie Van Bauwel. She currently supports the courses Cultural Media Studies, Television Studies, Media and Gender, Audiovisual Media Training and Media, Culture and Diversity. Next to that she is working on a PhD-project on television representations of disability in Flanders.
