Reserving a meeting room

The department has several classrooms at its disposal which students can use for group assignments, meetings and other consultation moments. These need to be booked in advance. Students can arrange this at the reception desk.

Keep in mind: these rooms are primarily used by department members. If they wish to use a room, a student’s reservation can be cancelled.

Large meeting room (capacity of approximately 24 people)

The department has three meeting rooms:

  • KM11V1 and KM11V2: meeting rooms above the reception desk (when taking the wooden stairs, on the first and second floor respectively, to the left down the hall)

Small meeting room (capacity of approximately 3 people)

For an interview or consultation with a small amount of people, students can use a small room next to the office of Professor Daniël Biltereyst.

Other rooms for group assignments

If no rooms are available within the confines of the department, students can make use of:

  • PC-hub (Dutch) Political & Social Sciences (Paddenhoek 3, 2nd floor (above the Film-Plateau): the computer room is available for group assignments on moments without classes
  • Library of Law(Universiteitstraat 4): above the intermediary room in the law library there are a couple of rooms available for group assignments
  • Department of Sociology (Dutch) (Korte Meer 5): room Kerker
  • Other available Ghent University classrooms can be found using the Central Auditorium Management (Dutch)
