Bart joined imec-mict-UGent in 2014 as a Media Consumption Analyst. His main focus is digimeter, an annual study by imec on the adoption and use of media and technology in Flanders. To gain deeper insights in the trends spotted in digimeter, bart collaborates with other researchers to set up additional research. Furthermore, Bart keeps an eye on the (international) news coverage on media consumption and use of technology, and he monitors reports and studies to gain benchmarks and state-of-the-art insights for mict research.

Prior to his function at mict, Bart worked for 5 years at Mediahuis Connect, the advertising saleshouse of newsbrand publisher Mediahuis (De Standaard, Het Nieuwsblad, Jobat, Gazet van Antwerpen, Het Belang van Limburg). As a market analyst, he performed both strategic analyses (on which topics should the group focus to gain most profit out of the market within the coming years) as tactical studies (deliver arguments why clients should choose for Mediahuis Connect).
