Aduén Darriba completed his Bachelor of Art and Technology at the University of the Arts Utrecht and his Master of Arts focusing on emotional design for robotic interfaces. After his graduation he started as a researcher on Tangible Media at the Amsterdam University of Applied sciences working on body-worn devices. During this period he worked closely with University of Twente on the research project TaSST, researching remote touch communication. He combines prototyping skills with a good understanding of user-focused design research.

Next to his research work he develops wearable electronics for the fashion and artistic industry. Some renowned projects are the Smoke Dress 2012 with Anouk Wipprecht from 2012, Like Living Organism 2013 for Local Androids, HardcoreVein 2015 for Maartje Dijkstra and Living Lights 2017 for Somfy.

At imec-mict he is involved in projects that benefit from a design research focus and fast prototyping capabilities.
