Sarah Anrijs started as a junior researcher in August 2016. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education: Dutch – mathematics (Artevelde University College, 2014) and a master’s degree in Communication Sciences with a specialization in New Media and Society (Ghent University, 2016). Her master’s thesis focussed on the effectiveness of an educational application in biology on learning outcomes and 21st century skills by conducting an experiment in eight classes in six secondary schools.

After an internship during the spring of 2016, she joined mict on the ARIA-project (Augmented Reality for Industrial Applications). The purpose of this project is the development of an augmented reality application that supports employees with digital instructions and feedback during complex technical tasks. Sarah is interested in innovation in education and the role of new technologies, as well in barriers and needs experienced by people using ICTs for professional tasks.
