Frederik De Grove holds a PhD in Communication Sciences (Ghent University, 2014). In his doctoral research, he explored peoples’ social networks and motivations in relation to everyday media use. Specifically, he was interested in how to approach these relations methodologically and empirically.

Currently, his interests and expertise lie in the methodological aspects of communication research. He is fascinated by the process and consequences of the computational turn in the social sciences and specializes in the use and teaching of traditional and computational methods. Furthermore, he is secretary of the ICA computational methods interest group.
