Aesthetics of Violence: Kashmir in film and other narrative forms

This project looks at the representation of the Kashmir conflict in Bollywood cinema, documentary films and also in certain novels. The aim is to study the language of representation, and to see how the conflict is rendered in these different modes of narration as well as how representation is structured in terms of memory.
