Violence, Human rights and Democracy in the Philippines

Strengthening the Quality and Impact of Academic Research

This 2-year project (2018-2019) seeks to invigorate public debate in the Philippines about the risks and consequences of authoritarian rule. The project will establish a research network with representatives from the academic community, civil society and the media, which will undertake a collaborative research project. The impact this project seeks to achieve is that rigorous and innovative research will nurture an evidence-based public dialogue between policy-makers, academics, journalists, and activists about the risks of authoritarian rule for the development trajectory of the Philippines.
