Academic Interests:
With experiences of ethnographic fieldwork, my research interests include (peri) urbanization in conflict settings, politically induced urban (re) resettlements, and the political economy of ‘informal’/’illegal’ settlements in Ethiopia. Additionally, I am interested in the politics of land tenure arrangements, urban sprawl, urban planning, and development strategies in ethnically polarized cities and multi-national federations.
