Academic Interests:

Atique's research interests are resource governance, mass protest and violent conflict in transformed societies. He focuses on large scale mining activities and resultant population displacements and resistance against such mining activities in developing countries. He also conducts research on foreign policy, regional connectivity, environmental governance, land management and intellectual property rights in South Asian countries.
