Exemption

On the basis of the results of previous higher education trainings you can be qualified to receive an exemption and/or credit.
How do you apply for an exemption?

1. Letter to the chairperson of the GIT-Commission (Individualised Trajectory)
• chairperson, Prof. Dr. H. Vos, Korte Meer 1, 9000 Gent
• survey previous studies
• mention the course you want to attend
• application for an exemption
• copy of result list(s)
• personal data

You can also hand in this letter at the FSA, Universiteitstraat 8, ground floor

Individualised Trajectory (GIT)

How do you apply for a GIT?
Print out the GIT-form or collect it at the FSA. Bring it in fully filled in, together with a copy of your result note(s), at the latest on 15/10.

For a GIT of 1ba with 2ba: get in touch with the study counsellors.

For a GIT as from the 2nd bachelor get in touch with the study guide Valentine.Vanderhaeghen@ugent.be

Your application for a GIT will be presented to the GIT commission for approval.

Cumulate/combine
It’s possible to cumulate as soon as you have obtained transfers/credits/exemptions that are worth at least 20 study points.
If you have less than 20 study points credits/exemptions you can present an application to the GIT commission by using the GIT form.
Anyway, you must consider your chances to succeed carefully before you decide whether or not to cumulate/combine. Combining increases the study load considerably. If you have any questions concerning combining you can get in touch with the student counsellor (see above) or the study guide (see above).

How to apply for a cumulation?
Print out the GIT form or pick it up at the FSA. Bring it in fully filled in, together with a copy of your result note(s), at the latest on 15/10.

Your application for a cumulation will be presented to the GIT commission for approval.

Decrease of the study volume

Fill in the form for the decrease of study volume and hand it in at the FSA together with a copy of the concerning diploma. After the Dean or the chairperson has signed for agreement you can enrol for the training at the Advise centre or - after 15/10 – at the Central Student Administration (Rectory).

  • For: social assistants, graduates communication management, graduates company management: marketing

  • Programme that combines the 1ba and 2ba Political Sciences.
    • for social assistants or graduates communication management
      (here comes the programme)
  • Programme that combines the 1ba and 2ba Sociology.
    • For social assistants
      (here comes the programme)

How to apply for decrease of the study volume:
Apply in writing with a copy of the diploma and send it to:
