Bregt Saenen
Bregt Saenen is a PhD Fellow at the Centre for EU Studies of Ghent University with a scholarship from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO). His doctoral dissertation explores the causal process between EU coherence and effectiveness in the ILO. In May 2012, Bregt was a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Global Affairs of New York University. He holds a M.A. in History and a M.S. in EU Studies from Ghent University. Before starting his current PhD fellowship in October 2010, Bregt was an Intern at the ILO Office for the European Union and the Benelux countries in Brussels.
Research interests
The European Union’s foreign policy in international institutions, notably the International Labour Organization; the Union's external coherence and effectiveness; the United Nations system; global social governance.
