Guillaume Van der Loo

guillaumevanderloo.jpgGuillaume Van der Loo has a Master Degree in European Studies (Ghent University, 2009, Greatest Distinction) and obtained a ‘Master of Advanced Studies in European Law (L.L.M.)’ (Ghent University, 2010, Great Distinction). He also studied at the University of Firenze (2007-2008) in the framework of the Erasmus-programme.

As a doctoral fellow for the Special Research Fund (BOF), he prepares a PhD which examines the possibilities and limits of EU integration without membership through the conclusion of a new generation of Association and Trade Agreements, with Ukraine as a case study. This PhD is being prepared under the supervision of Prof. Peter Van Elsuwege at the European Institute of the Faculty of Law (Ghent University), with Prof. Jan Orbie (CEUS) acting as co-promotor.

Research interests

His research area concerns the external relations of the European Union, the trade policy of the Union and several aspects of the law of the World Trade Organization.
