Lin Goethals


Lin Goethals is since 2013 a Doctoral Researcher at the Centre for EU Studies of Ghent University and at the Faculty of Education of Beijing Normal University in China. In 2006 she obtained her Master’s degree in Political Sciences from Ghent University, followed by her Qualified Teacher’s Degree for Secondary Education in Political and Social Sciences in 2007, also from Ghent University. During her studies in Political Sciences she was an exchange student at the University of Padova in Italy and conducted fieldwork as a visiting research student at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa. After her studies she started working at the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) in Brussels, with which she is still affiliated as their Programme Director for Asia. Since 2013 she has been dividing her time between Ghent and Beijing, during which period she was also a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for EU Studies at the Taiwan National University in Taipei and at the Centre for European Studies of Peking University.
