COVID-19, FAMILY RELATIONS AND MENTAL HEALTH

Description

This project (2021) investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on intergenerational relationships and the mental health of older people living in Europe. Using data from the COVID-19 SHARE survey, the focus is on changes in intergenerational contact, informal care and feelings of depression. The project is funded by FWO and carried out in collaboration with Prof. Dimitri Mortelmans (PI, University of Antwerp) and Prof. Pearl Dykstra (Erasmus University Rotterdam). Prof. Piet-Bracke acts as co-supervisor of the project.
