The Refugee Survey Quarterly published an advance online version of an article by Ruben Wissing, Migration Law Research Group collaborator and PhD researcher, entitled Between Aspirations and Law: Protection Consciousness among Congolese Forced Migrants in Rabat. On the basis of fieldwork in Rabat, the article explores Congolese forced migrants’ aspirations and protection consciousness, and finds that state law only plays a limited role in providing protection as compared to other social orders.
