Final of the International Migration and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition: 18 March 2022

(01-03-2022) Join the Migration Law Research Group (MigrLaw) on March 18 for the final of the International Migration and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition!

foto Migration Moot CourtThe Migration Law Research Group (MigrLaw) from Ghent University is hosting the International Migration and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition on 17 and 18 March 2022. A moot court is the ideal opportunity for students to strengthen their legal analysis and pleading skills.

After a successful first round of written contributions from over 30 teams from all over the world, we now welcome 12 teams to Ghent to compete in the oral pleadings.

All teams will plead in a fictitious case on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the People’s Republic of Kalakuta, and of 17 year-old Omar Sharif from Syria who seeks international protection in Kalakuta. They will do so before an international bench of judges coming from, among others, Kenya, Norway, South Africa, Tunisia and Ukraine.
