Saartje Matton

In 2014, Saartje Matton graduated from Ghent University magna cum laude as Master of Laws. During her studies, Saartje participated in the VVN-MUN and dedicated her Master Thesis to the issue of press freedom in Russia (“Freedom of expression and the Russian media: a public watchdog on a leash?”).

From April to July 2015, Saartje worked as an intern with the Permanent Mission of Belgium to the United Nations in New York, USA.

In October 2015, Saartje joined the Department of European, Public and International Law as a practical assistant to Prof. Dr. F. Maes. Saartje combines her job at the department with a job as a judicial adviser at the rectorate of the UGent.
