Jana Schellemans

Biografie

Jana Schellemans worked for 8.5 years as a lawyer at the Antwerp Bar and the Dutch-speaking Bar of Brussels, specializing in all aspects of immigration and refugee law.

Since leaving the bar in 2024, she has been working as a fundamental rights officer at the Federal Migration Center Myria, where she focuses in particular on economic migration, nationality & statelessness, and the detention of persons without valid residence documents.

Since 2025, she has been a teaching assistant in the Migration Law course at the Faculty of Law and Criminology at Ghent University. Previously, she was affiliated with the Center for Public Law at KULeuven.
