Biography

Foto Roos-Marie van den BoogaardRoos-Marie van den Bogaard acquired a Master degree in International Migration with a specialisation in Human Rights Law from the University of Kent in 2017. During her studies, she conducted legal research on issues relating to mobile EU citizens and their family members when working as a caseworker for the EU Rights Clinic. Following this experience, she conducted research on the topic of mobile EU citizens’ access to (social) rights as an independent consultant for the European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM). As part of her most recent position at the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM), she worked among others on issues relating to alternatives to detention, access to healthcare and labour rights.

Prior to obtaining her Master degree, she worked for human rights organisation Justice and Peace, where she assisted in the execution of the EU-wide MADE REAL project, led by the Odysseus Network. In 2014, she obtained her Bachelor degree in Social Science, with a major in sociology and law as well as a minor in statistics from University College Roosevelt (the Netherlands).
