Center for Advanced Studies in Law & Economics

The members of the Center for Advanced Studies in Law & Economics (CASLE) engage in in-depth interdisciplinary research that links mathematical models and statistical data processing to legal topics, and applies insights from various social sciences (primarily economics and psychology) to the analysis of legal phenomena.

As a founding member of the Erasmus Mundus network "European Master in Law and Economics" (www.emle.org), the center contributes to the international prestige of the faculty and the university.

In addition to publishing research in international law and economics journals, the center is committed to valorizing theory development and empirical search methods for Flemish political and legal reality.

CASLE is also responsible for the development of law and economics as a course component in the law and economics (EW/TEW) programmes at Ghent University.
